astrology, Planets!!!

Pluto!!

Pluto is a dwarf planet discovered in 1930. In modern astrology, it is the coldest and furthest away from the sun. Well, aside from Eris. Surprisingly, Pluto has five moons. It takes 248 years for one orbit around the sun lasting in one sign for about 21 years depending if the planet is going direct or in the various stages of retrograde. This planet sometimes crosses Neptune’s orbit leading to it be close to the sun than Neptune at times.

Pluto is the Roman god of the underworld. He was saved from the belly of Saturn by his brother Jupiter. Though, after being saved, he was given the crap end of the stick being sent to rule in the underworld. He has a helmet and a bident and is known as a wealth god given most material riches are from under or in the earth. Pluto co-rules sign Scorpio with Mars and governs the 8th house. It only has a feminine expression and is related to the element water and a fixed modality. Pluto is about the power and extremes of intimacy, betrayal, and mutual wealth.

The concept of death with Pluto relates to inner work. Yes, Pluto brings extreme measures when you are may face true death concerning those close to you. But, it is in efforts to transform yourself first then have the strength and power to transform the world around you. The lesson of death and transformation can be seen when betrayal comes, or opposition arise.

Pluto can be related to Mars if you turn the outward force of Mars inward. For me, I can’t feel the supposed radiating power using off Plutonians unless I look them in the eyes. Some people governed by Pluto learn how to control their emotions, but there is a strong sense of ownership and possession when Plutonians desire something or someone. Learning how to transmute the energy is better than trying to control the energy. Focus all that force on bettering yourself and environment. You will get what you desire to an extreme one way or another because of the stubborn intensity of emotions.

The antithesis of Pluto is Venus, more so the feminine expression of Venus. Venus is about harmony, stability, comfort, values, and beauty all personal. Not caring what others think but keeping with an authentic self. Pluto is about control and melding with another for transformation. The idea of power and transformation is not one of stability or comfort.

Metaphysically, do not play with this Planet. If you want to experiment with Pluto, watch out. I’m telling you this from personal trial and error. Don’t. But there are those who will. Please proceed with caution. Have protection mundane and spiritual. Heed the warning when they come. Be prepared for soul-wrenching transformation. This is a dark planet. Do not play with Pluto. If you want to study Hades, write the glyph on a candle an concentrate on it. Study darker deities and to begin to understand what you are dealing with. Develop will and determination to be able to get through anything.

Saturn

Saturn is a fantastic planet. It is the last planet visible to the naked eye before the solar system gives way to darkness. Saturn weighs the least of all the worlds in the solar system, with 62 known moons, and beautiful rings. It takes Saturn about 29 years for this planet it orbits the Sun completing the zodiac wheel lasting in a sign for 2 1/2 depending on the motion of this planet. Meaning if Saturn is in the process of going into or out of retrograde, is retrograde, or direct.

Saturn rules two sings Capricorn the feminine side, and Aquarius the masculine side. With the sign rulership of Saturn, you can see how this planet is about learning and working within your boundaries to attain what you want in this world ( Capricorn), and pushing your limits, experimenting with the environment around you to gain more in life( Aquarius ). Saturn has two modes attributed to it, cardinal and fixed. Meaning Saturn is about starting, or taking responsibility, and maintaining the fruits of your efforts. The elements that go well with Saturn are Earth and Air showing how it is about stability and, in a detached way, progression. The houses Saturn rules are the 10th, challenging of reputation, social status, career, and legacy.  The 11th house is of hopes and wishes, gains, networking, and society. This planet is exalted in Libra and debilitated in Aries.

With Saturn in astrology, you have to research to understand what it is doing in a natal chart. Most believe this planet is about Restriction, boundaries, limits and responsibilities and nothing more. But, Saturn also represents the highest place in the natal chart, karma as in the result of your efforts and reaping what you sow, time, control and material prosperity. Saturn rules the physical world and is known as Alpha and Omega. This planet also has more than one symbol. The well known Rx is another Saturnian symbol. Saturn lends its energy to retrograde planets. It is the reason why you are going over and over again with lessons concerning those planets and is the reason why retrograde planets are so tricky to understand.  After your Saturn return, an entire topic on its own, the experiences of your retrograde planets becomes easier.

Unlike other planets, Saturn as two planets opposing it- the Sun and Moon. The Sun and Moon are personal, insular, representing the Spirit and soul, the ego and emotions. Saturn is the antithesis of that. It is about the harsh outer world pushing the boundaries of the ego ( seen in the Leo/Aquarius dynamic), as well as controlling and guarding your emotions and soul (seen within the relationship between Cancer and Capricorn).

Metaphysically Saturn Rules over Saturday and its metal is lead. Saturnian gods deals with reaping what you sow and harvesting, karma, time, stability, effort, and wisdom. Saturning gods are Cronos, Saturn, and Shani.

The Planets!!!!

Western astrology is a geocentric alchemical art relating the zodiac and movement of the planets to what happens here on earth. Astrology goes with one of the universal laws, the law of correspondence. Modern astrology has 10 planets with the Sun and Moon considered as planets. Here is a list of those planets: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. Each planet governs either one or two zodiac signs. Within astrology, it is good to know there are 7 traditional and 3 modern planets. Now, the next few sentences bleed into occult and alchemy but as this blog progresses, it will make sense. The traditional planets rules correlate to the 7 vowels- a, e, i, o, u, w, y; The 7 days of the week starting with the Moon in the U.S.- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday; and the 8 octaves C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C beginning and ending with Saturn.

So let’s talk more about the 7 traditional planets Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Five out of the seven planets rule two zodiac signs giving a masculine and feminine quality to those five astrological planets. Mercury has Gemini as the masculine and Virgo as the feminine. Venus has Libra as the masculine and Taurus as the feminine. Mars has Aries as the masculine and Scorpio as the Feminine. Jupiter has Sagittarius as the masculine and Pisces as the feminine. Saturn has Aquarius as the masculine and Capricorn as the feminine.  Only those five planet ruling two signs are able to go retrograde- an easy way to explain retrograde planets are expressed in the feminine aspect, or the planet turned inward, with a Saturnian quality to them. I will elaborate more when I get to the retrograde planet blogs. The Sun and Moon only rule one sign each, Leo and Cancer respectively.  Also, they will never go retrograde. This is because the Sun and Moon are already internal in us.  The Sun being the Ego while the Moon the inner mind and emotions.

The Modern system has the additional three outer planets: Uranus ruling Aquarius only, Neptune ruling Pisces only, and Pluto ruling Scorpio only.  Retrogrades with these planets make the energies of them difficult to express and stronger in our lives. It is good to know these are very slow moving planets. Because they move so slow they stay in a zodiac sign long enough to affect generations of people. Hence why they are also called generational planets.  Each planet governs an aspect of society at large. Uranus shows how a generation, or a person changes and rebels bringing in a new era. Neptune is the unconscious influence of a society. Pluto is the destructive or transformative aspect of a society.

That is all for the intro of the Planets.  I can’t wait to get into the details of each and every one of them!!!!

astrology, Zodiac 1.0

Aquarius 1.0

AAaquariuss! Aquarius is the water bearer. This is a fixed air sign coming from the eleventh house of hopes and dreams, the collective conscious, and groups. The time period for this house is from January 20th to February 18th. Aquarius has two ruling planets, Saturn and Uranus. With Saturn, Aquarius is the Masculine aspect, and for Uranus, Aquarius is the sole aspect. In Greek mythology, Aquarius is a Trojan prince by the name of Ganymede. Ganymede was a youth who caught Zeus’ eye.  Zeus then became an eagle taking the boy to mount Olympus setting Ganymede as the cupbearer for the gods. He became immortal at the hands of Zeus later became a constellation because of his kindness. Mainly because he plead to Zeus on behalf of humanity for rain. There is more to this story, but that is the gist of Aquarius. Uranus is the planet/god to look at with Aquarius. He is not an Olympian, but a Titan. He is the god of the sky. To say a god is a sky god is to say he is the highest god in the pantheon. Uranus was later overthrown by his son Cronos, the god Saturn, by castration.

Soo, moving on to Aquarius. This is the sign is loyal to ideas, and progression. They are seen as weird or futuristic being a reason why this is linked to the scientist. Aquarius plays devil’s advocate with contemporary thought usually leaning towards egalitarianism. They are logical people wanting reason to govern over everything else. The water-bearer is able to detach themselves from others being in a group but maintain individuality. They are efficient and stable with their emotions, and will not quickly change how they feel about something do to outside influences. They enjoy exchanging ideas by learning and socializing enjoying someone there to hear their thoughts. Romanticly, they partner with people that have strong sun or fire placements. Their partners seem childish and playful. Usually, the other half of the Aquarius is self-centered. In the social aspect, they attract people to them but just existing. They are unexplainable magnetic. Career-wise Aquarius could be anything that will constitute transformation on a large scale.

Their phrase is I know.

Capricorn 1.0

So, goats…Capricorn is another earth sign. They are the half goat half fish, or you could see it as a sea goat. Capricorn marks the Winter solstice on December 21st. Their time period is December 21st to January 20th. They are the cardinal earth sign that sits on the top of the mountian…or chart in astrology. This sign’s home is the 10th house or midheaven that rules social status, image, career, represents the father, destiny, success, and ambition. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and is the Feminine aspect of Saturn- the masculine would be Aquarius.  When we talk about Capricorn, we should speak of Pricus the original sea-goat, and Cronos to father of time.

Pricus was a creation of Cronos and, for the short story, Tried to revert time to change is children’s destiny because he had the ability over time like Cronos does. But saw it as futile, no matter what he was the only one not affected time while his children were. They reverted to infants and always went to the shore changing from sea-goat to mountain goats incapable of speech or understanding. Because he lost his children to their destiny, he asked Cronos to be killed. Instead, he became the Constellation Capricorn. Cronos, on the other hand, is about the cycle of life the future and destiny. The God overthrew his father, gained power through this then tried to stop a prophecy of his children overthrowing him. Alas, he could not stop his destiny nor his children’s. Cronos was usurped by Zeus.

Anyways, Cronos governs time, repping what you sow. What does this have to do with Capricorn? Capricorn is ambitions- Just like Cronos and Saturn ( the Roman equivalent). They are on the same mode as Aries, so their ambition is about survival. Most of the time Capricorn has to mature extremely fast. Usually, they will experience great amounts of responsibility either of others or just hard knock life. This sign like Scorpio gets served a heavy dose of karma. Though, Capricorn can handle it. They can handle pretty much anything. These mountain goats just don’t stop. They are not emotion…wait let me take that back. They are emotional. Buttttt, most of the time the emotions have been beaten into submission but their cast iron will. These people will make it no matter what.

The good life for Capricorn will happen when they honor the rules of life and stability going after what they want with a practical plan. At the start of their life, the sea-goat may be spendthrift. Though, when this happens life will throw them the worst curveball ever. They will learn to not be reckless with material and financial matters. Being a cardinal earth sign Capricorn will take the initiative to manage and grow their money. Most of the time they will rely on traditional means so wealth building. For example, for years people have saved their wealth in banks. Though, it is not the best thing to do when inflation is 3%, and bank interest rates are 0.01%  but who’s to tell a Capricorn what to do? Aries rules the 4th house for Cap meaning they can be hot heads when it boils down to it. The home life could have been a battlefield, or they would have to become the leader of the household. On the one on one romance, they want a relationship where they can emotionally connect with someone else. A relationship where they can feel nurtured and safe.

Capricorn may end up with a partner who is moody and requires a lot of emotional care. Most of the time their other half has strong moon influences in the chart. Noooww, the tenth house is where they shine!! This is the house that gives more in-depth info on Capricorn. They are all about status and image. It may be a tough road up that hill, but you will never know by looking at them. Having Libra here ruled by Venus shows that Capricorns are usually GORGEOUSThey will use their looks to their advantage and most likely marry up. They have a knack for refined art and beauty. Career-wise, Cap can be a lawyer or judge, art dealer or construction worker, architect, commodities broker, or divorce attorney, et cetera.

So, I wrote way too much on Capricorn. But I still have more to say about this sign. It would have to wait for Capricorn 2.0.

The phrase for Capricorn is I use.
